Social Studies Test

Modal Verbs

Dear children,

We have learnt about modal verbs and negatives during our computer lab lesson and in class. I have chosen to put up this video that shows us all the different types of modal verbs:

Slither and Slide

Dear children,

We read our new big book again today! We learnt that a synonym is a word that has a similar meaning and these are the words we talked about today:

slither -- wriggle -- wiggle -- squiggle -- jiggle

slide -- glide

slimy -- sticky 

big -- huge -- enormous -- gigantic 

delicious -- tasty

mad -- angry

All the above words in the same line are synonyms to each other.

We also talked about the sounds we hear at the end of the words. These are the ones we read from the book:

slither
slide
slime

Spelling will start next Friday (25 September).

Readers' Theatre

Dear children,

I have forgotten to take photos of all the others, these are some of the photos I managed to take during recess! Arfan was very kind and lent his wolf cap to the wolves. The video I would post it up later, though it will not be the full video as it is a little too large. It was funny how you all read differently (rather slowly) when speaking into the microphone. Hope you all have enjoyed the experience!

Use Your Hand Campaign

Dear children,

The last two periods tomorrow will be used for our termly Use-Your-Hand Campaign! We are going to freshen up our classroom and get rid of all the old stuff from our classroom and lockers. 

1 .Do bring along a rag that you can use to clean the tables and chairs and your lockers. I will be inspecting your lockers as well. 

2. If you have any old books that you do not want anymore and would want to donate to our class library, you can bring along as well. 

3. We do not need so many newspapers, just a sheet will do, as we do not have that many windows to clean.
