Which class leader do you want to be?

This is the journal question posted to everyone today. We spent some time talking about the different leadership positions in the classroom and everyone got excited about it.

These are the available positions:

1) Class Chairperson (The monitor, takes charge of the class when the teacher is not around)

2) Vice Chairperson (The assistant to the monitor)

3) Class Librarian (Takes care of the class library corner and promotes borrowing books from the school library)

4) ICT Leader (In charge of all the IT equipment and usage in the class and computer lab)

5) Green Ambassador (Takes the first step in having a recycling corner in the class and promotes saving resources and electricity)

6) NE Ambassador (Promotes love for Singapore and makes sure that everyone is included in the school events and activities)

7) Art Leader (Be a role model in the Art class and assists in demonstration and collection of work)

8) Music Leader (Be a role model in Music class and encourages others to have passion and enthusiasm for music)

9) PE Leader (Shows sportsmanship, strength and perseverance when playing sports)

10) Safety Champion (Makes sure that our environment is safe and everyone is playing safely)

11) MT Leader (Be a role model in Mother Tongue class and helps promote the love for the subject) - Already chosen by various MT teachers, but you may still choose to write about it

(The number of badges for each position indicates how many pupils will be chosen for each job.)

I will be reading your journals to see what you have to say, and from there I will be nominating a few of you for each position. After that, there will be a voting session where everyone in the class gets to choose the leader they feel is best for the job. This voting will be confidential, meaning no one will know who has voted for who.

Do be prepared to say something to the class when you are asked why you really want the job! :) That will help your friends feel confident in you.

See you next week!

Sincerely,
Mrs Soh
